The Signal is a publication about AI. In the interest of transparency, here is how AI tools are and are not used in producing it.
What AI assists with
- Drafting assistance for some articles, always reviewed and edited by a human before publication.
- No article is published automatically. There is no auto-publish pipeline on this site.
What AI does not do
- AI does not invent sources, quotes, dates, or figures. Every factual claim is checked against a real source before publication.
- AI-generated images, where used, are for illustration only and are not presented as photographs of real events, people, or products.
- Reader data (newsletter signups, comments) is never used to train AI models.
